A Local fashion designer
beat strong competition from across Scotland to exhibit her clothing
at the G8 summit held in Gleneagles last week. Karen Godsmark's label - "Clothing by Design" exhibited her Harris
Tweed Products range for women and children before the world's most
powerful leaders.
And she found admirers in
Cherie Blair and Laura Bush who expressed their gratitude that Karen
could travel to Gleneagles to exhibit her work.
Karen, who studied at Heriot-Watt
University in Galashiels, said: "it was
fantastic to go to the G8 summit but you don't really take it all in
until you are there and see all the high profile people.
Mrs Blair and Mrs Bush were really nice and admired the clothes before
thanking me for attending. It was an opportunity of a lifetime".
